About McMahon, Najam and Gable
McMahon, Najam and Gable is a dental clinic in Albany, New York. It is listed at 880 Western Ave, Albany, NY 12203, which places it among the local businesses of Albany that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by.
In Albany, popular practices book routine cleanings weeks ahead, so call early or ask to be put on a cancellation list; emergency and walk-in clinics are the exception. Across New York, a new-patient exam with X-rays and a cleaning typically runs from about $150 to $350 without insurance, and many offices publish new-patient specials on their websites. Check the listing for hours, whether the office takes your insurance or Medicaid, languages spoken, wheelchair access and parking, then confirm by phone: insurance networks and providers change more often than the listings do.
Hours are published for 5 days a week. The most common schedule is 8 amβ5 pm. It is closed on Saturday, Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (844) 595-1321. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, mngdental.com.
Its Google rating stands at 3.4 out of 5 from 44 reviews, which is below average for the category; consider the recent reviews carefully before visiting.
Albany is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Albany is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New York's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Had a tooth filled in November, it is now February and the filling came out. I believe that Dr. Najam knew what my insurance covered and went outside of the boundaries set by my insurance. Dr. McMahon was an honest guy, I went to him for over 20 years. I am going to find a new dentist.

Thank you so much to Dr. Najam and his team, Elon, Alicia and Maria for a great experience with my crown. They made sure my temporary fit with perfection as well as the placement of my permanent crown. I highly recommend their service and greatly appreciate the care I received.

Worst customer service I evet encountered. They called me and threatened me with sending my bill to collections. I told her "Victoria" that I thought I already paid, and she said I didn't. So, I paid again. After going through my credit card statements for about an hour I found that indeed I had paid back in September. I called back and told her that I have the charge for $254 on my credit card and gave her the date. She then argued with me like I was lying and said it wasn't in her ledger. I said I didn't care it was on my credit card statement, and I thought that threatening me because they are incompetent bookkeepers was wrong. She hung up on me. I called back and she said she hung up because I was loud. I asked to speak to her supervisor, and she said I would have to wait until tomorrow. Horrible place since Dr.McMahon left. They actually charged me $350 for a cleaning and x-rays. Ridiculous!!! I will be speaking to the supervisor tomorrow and putting a stop on my second payment.

As a new patient, my experience with Dr. Luong was deeply disappointing. My first appointment was abruptly canceled as I was walking into the officeβwithout prior notice. At my rescheduled visit, I received a filling that was left rough and unpolished. The discomfort became unbearable within hours, prompting me to return the same day. When I returned the same day seeking relief, Dr. Luong dismissed my concerns and insisted nothing was wrong, making me feel gaslighted and unheard. She eventually agreed to polish the filling but did so with such force that it caused pain and bleeding gums. When I asked her to stop, she left the room without a word and never returned. This experience left me feeling unheard, mistreated, and anxious about seeking further dental care. I would not recommend this practice to others.

Dr McMahon left the practice. He was my familyβs dentist for over 30 years and we trusted him. No one informed me that heβd left so I showed up to my appointment that was being handled by a new dentist who I did not know and was not comfortable with. My parents also were patients of Dr McMahon. They saw the new dentist one time each and paid in cash at the counter in full. Then, after the fact, received two bills in the mail. My mother called to contest them. The office said that one bill was due to pricing increases and the other was an accidental double bill. My mother refused to pay for a retroactive price increases and they were voided. But just goes to show you that theyβre probably over billing everybody and thereβs probably a fair number of people who arenβt doing due diligence and will just overpay. Be careful and check your bills. Iβve found a new dentist.
